Buzzy’s Food & Spirits in Piscataway reopened on Aug. 22 after closing just over a week earlier on Aug. 12.  Owners cited a tremendous outpouring of community support as a reason to reopen until the business is sold.

"There was a groundswell of support when we announced out closing," Rob Brownlee told Daily Voice, but he discussed keeping the bar open on a limited basis with his wife Sherrie, who owns Buzzy's.

It originally announced it was closing after 33 years on Aug. 3.

The highly popular local bar, which is located at 200 Stelton Road, announced its resurrection via Facebook. On Aug. 21, the eatery announced: "We're REOPENING the bar tomorrow! Kitchen is open 5:00-10:00 P.M., with a limited menu." They are closed on Sunday and Monday.

The bar’s owners are fielding offers from potential buyers, Brownlee told Daily Voice.

"We're trying to do some things differently" to keep business alive, he said, including a Ladies' Night on Tuesdays and beer pong on Thursdays.
